Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. In 2015, she appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to collaborate with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna was signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a song that she co-wrote with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut EP on Oct 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks by EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream of the album dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. On November 9 she released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two additional singles were also released by her on 11/13, titled Pedigree and No One. She appeared with Cole on the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16and later released the song as a single by herself for the album she released her debut. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was released for the song. The track has received more than 3 million hits on YouTube within the debut week. In support of the track She toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
